Q2 2024 Fitness App Trends on iOS in the US

In the second quarter of 2024, the iOS platform saw significant activity in the Fitness and Weight Loss Programs category. Sensor Tower provides in-depth insights into how these apps performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike experienced a steady increase in revenue, peaking at $4.4M in early May, with a slight dip towards the end of June to $3.5M. Downloads showed a downward trend from 2.2M in mid-April to 1.6M by late June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around the 25K mark throughout the quarter.

Mi Fitness (Xiaomi Wear Lite), despite not generating revenue, maintained a consistent download rate, with a slight decrease from 1.4M in early April to 1.1M by the end of June. Weekly active users saw a minor fluctuation but generally trended downwards from 6.1K to 6K over the quarter.

JustFit: Lazy Workout & Fit showed a mixed performance with its revenue peaking at $1.9M in early April, followed by a dip to $1.1M in mid-June, before slightly recovering to $1.6M in the last week of June. Downloads decreased sharply from 2.1M in mid-April to 792K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users started at 4.4K, peaked at 4.6K, and ended the quarter at around 4K.

MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter saw revenue fluctuate, with a notable peak at $2.4M in early June. Downloads began at 1.1M in April and saw a decrease to 989K by June. The app's weekly active users showed a slight upward trend, starting at 46.6K and reaching nearly 49.3K before dipping to 48K towards the end of the quarter.

Fastic: Food & Calorie Tracker had a notable increase in revenue in early May, reaching $1.5M, but saw a decline to $729K by late June. Downloads spiked dramatically in early May to 2.3M but eventually fell to 512K. Weekly active users more than doubled from 1.7K in early April to 4.9K in early June, ending the quarter at 3.5K.
